Freedom Camping was started by a very small team in Christchurch in 2005. We set out to create a premium
camping brand that offered high quality product customers could trust to work year after year. We wanted to offer
this product at prices people could afford. After months working with some of the best tent factories in the world and
summers travelling around New Zealand’s favorite campsites, Freedom Camping was born.
We now have a great team of people who are each a “Jack of all trades”. Our team still spends months of the year
living at factories pitching tents and rain testing samples during production. All this hard work has begun to pay off with
Freedom Camping tents gaining a reputation for being some of the best designed and well made tents available.
Our quality control procedures have been so successful that they have been adopted by brands and factories around
the world.
When we design our product range our goal is always to make things better than they were the year before. Even
when models do not change we are constantly adjusting construction techniques to make things stronger and easier
to use.
